Patient of the Month - July 2011 - Cindie Sprecker

Unbelievable – Fantastic – I feel better than I have in years.

Dr. Zabinski gave a talk at the West Shore Bureau of Fire explaining about chiropractic care. My husband {Jim Sprecker} told him about my neck pain and dizziness, Dr. Z. said he believed he could help me.

The first visit was a spinal exam that was very through.  DR. Z. was able to tell me everything I was having problems with even without me saying a word. He ordered x-rays of my neck and lower spine. These confirmed what he felt my medical conditions were and a course of treatment was begun.

I’ve been having dizzy spells for about three years. I’ve had neck pain for over 10 years. During the dizzy spells I would get tunnel vision, have tingling in my face, arms, legs, etc. and I would forget where I was going.  I actually passed out at work because of this problem. I’ve been to Orthopedic Surgeons, Internist, Neurologist, Cardiologists, had a stay in the hospital and Physical Therapy. I’ve had MRI’s, CT Scans, and so many tests I can’t even name them all. The results were usually within normal range. My insurance company paid thousands of dollars on these tests. My neck was always sore, I took pain pills and used a TEN’s unit to help eliminate the pain. That helped for a while. I even had neck surgery for bone spurs and pinched nerves in my neck. But the pain returned.

As a member of West Shore Bureau of Fire, I used to walk the 3 ½ blocks from my house to the station and back all the time. I even used to walk from Lemoyne to Camp Hill Fire Company or New Cumberland Fire Company.

About two years ago my Cardiologist put me on new blood pressure medicine. It made me gain over 25 pounds in two months and started giving me severe hip pain with problems walking.  As of a year ago, walking over 1 block stopped me because of the pain. Getting up from my desk at work took assistance, and then I would shuffle, walk slowly, limp and be in a lot of pain. You would have thought I was 82 instead of 62.

This was all before seeing Dr. Zabinski. Dr. Z. has been seeing me for around 3 months. Neck pain and dizziness left after the 1st treatment.  Today - - I have had only two mild dizzy spells in three months. My neck pain is very minimal and the hip pain is a lot milder. Last week I actually walked over 8 blocks without pain.

I called my husband {Jim} the other day and told him I feel better than I have in years. My attitude is better, I feel better mentally and I’m physically better than I have been in 10 years, except for the weight and I’m working on it.

Thank you Dr. Zabinski, Darby, Megan and Josh!
