Patient of the Month - May 2010

I would just like to start by saying that before my experience with Dr. Zabinski and his staff, I did not have a lot of faith in chiropractic care.  Whether it was hearing negative thoughts and feelings from other people, or just lack of a personal education in chiropractic, I did not believe it could possibly help me.     Wow was I ever wrong.

I work for an electrical/mechanical company in the area.  Dr. Zabinski, on several occasions, gave a seminar on general spinal wellness, proper lifting and more.  The information he shared with us really seemed to make sense to me.  It was a good common sense approach to keeping your back healthy and fit.  Although at the time I was not having any problems, the information I learned really seemed to stay with me.

About a year later, I noticed some stiffness in my lower back during a round of golf.  Since I have a very physically demanding job, I did not think anything of it.  I had experienced lower back pain before, and I assumed, like before, that it would just go away.  However, after about three months of rolling out of bed onto my knees, I came to the realization that this time the pain was not going to simply go away.

My first experience with Dr. Zabinski was shortly after I first called him.  He examined me that very afternoon.   After X-rays and a short wait, I sat down with Dr. Z and had my consultation.  During which, he asked me many questions regarding my lower back and the other health problems I had been experiencing.  I thought I had covered everything when he asked, “Are you experiencing problems with your neck?”   He was able to tell that I had previously had a neck injury, simply by the way I moved my head.  This was when I truly started to believe in Chiropractics.  I explained to him that over 20 years ago I had injured my neck due to improper weight lifting technique.  After that, my neck problems plagued me constantly until I finally re-injured it playing softball 10 years later.  Following six months of physical therapy and traction, I thought my neck had healed.  What I did not realize was that I had lost most of the range of motion for my head.

Because of the care I received from Zabinski Chiropractic, I now have no lower back pain.  I have gained over 20 degrees of motion (in both directions) when turning my head and neck.  I feel that I am far more capable of performing my job day to day.  I would like to thank Dr. Z, Josh, Ashley, and Darby for their dedication and hard work.

Keep doing what you do!
